LOST HERITAGES OF HAZARIBAGH (1)

LOST RIVERS OF HAZARIBAGH

Rivers of Hazaribagh  are not exactly rivers they can be labelled as brooks. Whatever be it they are either at the brink or are absolutely obliterated.

THE ONCE SWIFT FLOWING CHAMPA RIVER TRANSFORMED INTO A DRAIN.

a)The river Champa: We donot know the source of it but the unfortunate river is now converted into a large drain. You can still see it running from Annada College passing from near the Kali Bari and drag on beyond.Spare a thought for this ill-fated river and shed a tear for it.

THE RAMNAGAR NALLAH ,THE ONCE FLOWING TIMID RIVER IS ALSO DRAIN TODAY.

b) The Ramnagar Nallah: This timid river still flows reluctantly through Ramnagar to Khirgaon, crossing Kumhartoli it is beleived that it empties into the mighty Damodar. But gross urbanisation is choking it, it will die, soon.

c) The  river Chano : This brook was once the South Eastern border of Hazaribagh  is now facing extinction due to building construction on its either banks, lack of rain and it turning into a sewer like the rest of the rivers.

Do something, anything to save it.

More till next time.

More till next time.
