This is an amazing church situated in what we know as the Catholic Ashram at Holy Cross road in Zulu Park. The startling architecture surely deserves all the praise. The structure is so attractive that one is pulled towards it by its sheer grandness.
The architecture resembles the Baha'i Lotus temple in New Delhi or even the Sydney Opera in Australia and it even has close similarity to the tribal stilt houses of the North East or of the Polynesian islands.
"...but who designed such a magnificent architecture?" I asked Father George Chittadya the in-charge of the Church.
The Father, a very friendly and a warm soul replied that it was Rev. Fr. Delporte S.J.of Belgium who had drawn the blueprint of this magnanimous church. The construction was accomplished about eight years ago and had taken about two year to complete.
One of the Brothers accompanied me to the church and I was zapped being inside the grand hall. I was treated to a visual feast. The Belgium Father deserved all the praise for such a stunning construction. If the architecture of the church is a grand spectacle then the painting within are no less spectacular. The painting on the walls, primarily the ones behind the altar are marvelously done by one Mr. Abraham Dhan, a teacher in St.Robert's High School, Sindur.
The Church is an asset not only to the Christian Community but is a matter of pride for entire Hazaribagh.
